Under Whose Authority

Chaos begins when we don’t submit to a higher authority. God is the avatar of authority. When we live buy his example our culture becomes stable. Therefore, when we reject God our culture becomes unstable. Everyday our cultural figures are promoting the idea to follow your own truth. If everyone has a different truth, then reality will be at conflict with itself. If our truth is contradicting God’s truth we are following a lie. Who is the avatar of lies?

Romans 12:2 (NASB):

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

It is easy for us to find our own truth. If we don’t look to biblical authority to our actions it is easy to be conformed to the world. Essentially, going against God’s truth is easy. There is one basic fact that we must face in Christianity. We are not inherently good. That is why we need a Savior. God’s word is a guide to how we live our lives. When we stray from the Truth we fall deeper into sin and self-destruction.

The world constantly is redefining what is right. Our culture gradates sin all the time. The lower sins don’t get discussed in churches or our society. There is a high level of fear to not offend anyone. Essentially the authority is the culture and not God. Whatever the culture can tolerate at a moment is considered right.

Our world will be so much better when we submit to God’s authority. The bible wasn’t given us to make our life worse. It was given to us to preserve and extend it. A culture that submits to your own personal desires leads it to destruction. Let’s live sacrificially to others and worship God. If we are submitting to your own authority, we are submitting to the Evil One. I leave you with a verse.

Mathew 6:24 (NASB):

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”
