My Worth Poem

I am lost in the sea of bodies

What am I here to do?

I fail too many times to count.

When can I succeed?

I am growing impatient

What are my next steps?

I find too many barriers

Can you erase them?

You gave up your life for me

How can I repay that gift?

I succeeded over death from sin

How can I show them you?

You gave up time for me

How can I give my time to you?

I Know these barriers are nothing big

How can I break thru them?

I think this is a battle that everyone faces. At least, everyone who realizes the massive gap between what Christ has done for us, and our ability to repay Him. However, we also need to recognize that if we could never deserve the sacrifice in the first place, will we ever be equipped to “repay”? Proper perspective, as you stated in your “insights on your insights” email is key. He didn’t and doesn’t give us gifts based on OUR worth, but on His love for us. When we do our best to understand His love is perfect and there is nothing that we can ever do to make Him love us less and nothing we can do to make Him love us more, He just wants us to love and serve Him with all we have. No, it will never be enough, and our circumstances will never dictate what we are worth to Him. He paid a pretty steep price for us, so I think our “worth” is much higher than any of us may ever realize. “Let everything with breath praise the Lord!”
